Project Description

Horseshoe crabs data – dynamic nomogram made by ‘DynNom’ package in R.

This dynamic nomogram is based on a poisson regression model fitted to the Horseshoe crabs data in ‘glm2’ package in R which is derived from “An introduction to categorical data analysis” book by Agresti (2007). It comprises 173 female horseshoe crabs, each of which had at least one male crab attached to each of them in their nest. The study investigated factors affecting the number of male partners in addition to the female’s primary partner (‘Satellites’). The explanatory variables include the female crabs width (‘Width’), a binary factor indicating whether the female has dark colouring (‘Dark’) and a binary factor indicating whether the female has good spine condition (‘GoodSpine’). The response variable is the number of male partners in addition to the female’s primary partner (‘Satellites’). This application is created using the ‘DNbuilder’ function (DynNom package) in R.
